July 30 - 2nd Week in the Office (Financier)

July 30 - 2nd Week in the Office (Financier) - no photos this letter

Mom and Dad!
DAD SHOT A HOLE IN ONE!! haha! That is so sweet!! :) I loved the video and everything! I remember that hole really well, but that is the first time I have seen the flag sit on that left side like that! Usually it is behind the sand trap or way up on the hill! I was laughing so hard when I saw that your name was in the newspaper! haha! How awesome!  Sounds like everyone is doing really well and that the 24th was a great day! I want to go to Dave and Tam's new house! It sounds super awesome! :) I can't believe Ash and the Kay kids made that much money doing the lemonade stand! Hahaha I remember I use to pass by there and buy like a lemonade from Ash, and give them 5 bucks for a glass of lemonade haha :) Good time! I really hope everything goes well with your Brain MRI Scan and Echo, and all of your tests mom! I'm always praying for you and hoping that you will be alright while I'm gone! Hopefully the scar tissue has gone down and you can get off those stupid steroids!!

Loving the office! :) It is pretty crazy and we are constantly running around and answering telephone calls and helping missionaries change houses and fix big money problems. At times it is super stressful, but we are coping! haha....    We are just working all day haha! The time goes by really fast and the best part is that the office is air conditioned, so that is really nice!
The house is really awesome! There are four of us living there, and the four of us have a lot of fun together because we are basically together all of the day, minus the hours that we get to go out and work! Our area is pretty sweet, minus that it is the most dangerous area in all of Nicaragua haha :) Its called Hialia, and it is pretty wicked here haha. My comp got robbed like two weeks ago, and they took all of his money and phones. But now we made friends with all of the people in that area, so we have this one group of people, basically a gang that is watching out for us. :) So everything is good now, it is just a little dangerous in the night,  but we are blessed and no one bothers us.
I'm doing really awesome and i'm super happy! I love you so much!

July 26, 2014 - In the Office

July 26, 2014 - In the Office

Hey mom and Dad!! :)

So I had changes this week.... to the office of the mission! I will become the new financier of the mission when my new companion, Elder Watteyne goes home in 6 weeks! I now will have p-days on Wednesdays usually, but this week we didn't have p-day because it was the day of changes and we all were up all night long driving people to the airport. We have had like two days with barley any sleep! It is pretty crazy here! There are four of us Secretaries for the mission. I'm in training for the new financier and the financier right now is my Comp! One of the Other ones is the Material Secretary, and the other is Just a General Secretary.

So Basically to tell you what will be happening in my life now, I will be in the office of the Mission from 9 in the morning till 4 or 5 in the afternoon working with the other secretaries. So all of us are missionaries, and we will get out into the area around 5 and work till 9! It is pretty crazy! We usually get good nights rest and all that, but when, for example, we have changes, usually we are up all day and night for three days driving to the airport and back, bring new missionaries, and dropping the old ones off.
me in my office as the financier hahaha :) pretty sweet!
Elder Roney( He came with me from the MTC) and Elder Kersey! They are the two other Secretaries. My comp is sleeping in the office of President, because it has carpet, and feels really awesome to lay down on! hahaha like I said, we dont get much sleep somenights, so we are pretty tried sometimes haha :)

This photo and the three below are just a few photos of the office, and the different rooms

So my job as the financier is being in charge of anything that has to do with money. Paying missionaries their allowances, changing houses, The mission Vehicles, Paying bills for the mission, buying food for big meetings, transportation, etc. Its is pretty stressful sometimes, but right now I'm training, so my comp. is helping my get this whole Financier stuff down :) This is a huge responsibility, and I will probably be in the office for 6 to 7 months, which means past Christmas and into January most likely, Anyways, I will look forward to talking to you guys in Wednesday! If you have questions, which I'm sure you do, just ask them haha :)

me again in the office
I  love you guys! Thank you so much for the support! Write me back if you get this email today with in the next 40 minutes! :)

Week 30 - July 21, 2014

Mom and Dad!
E. Naisbitt - baker?
Loved the Pictures of Wicked and Mom and Nanc and Grandpa and Mom packing up his house.   Man,  I love Wicked too! Grandma was telling me about the boys trip to Idaho! How awesome! She was saying they are going shooting BB guns and going to drive 4 wheelers! It's a sledgehammer.... Hhh....Shocks, pegs, LUCKY! Have you taken it off any sweet jumps??? :) I don't know why driving four wheelers made me think of Napoleon Dynamite, but funny! Any who! I'm going to miss St. George, too mom! How sad!!! That pool was my favorite! Maybe the pool in Arizona is good too!  I will miss how easy it was to visit Grandpa in St. George. AZ is SO much further away!
E. Naisbitt making a Milk Torta (cake)
..... I am super Jealous that it is time for Little E over again! Maybe you guys should try to go to the "Grand" over again! ;) j/k   hahaha But I do miss the #6!!! My cheese Enchiladas! Ya for sure tell Aunt Jack to send that milk shake through airmail! Priority! :) hahaha Sounds like everyone else is doing great! I finally got Ash"s letter! :) I love that kid! I will be sending my letter to him tomorrow in the morning, so it should be there in a few weeks! :) Surprisingly, I miss mowing lawns. I never thought I would, but I miss it a lot haha :) I hope Bill is reading this hahaha :) But seriously, I don't know why I loved it so much, but it was awesome and the time went by so fast! haha :)

So yeah, changes are this week, like on Wednesday. We will see what happens. I think that I will have changes, but we will see. Everyone is my District thinks that I will Either Swoop up and become District Leader or I will receive a "son" :) Idk what will happen, but I'll just keep working hard no matter what haha :) My comp and I are doing great! We went today around the zone and took a bunch of photos and saw some of the cool stuff before we have changes. :) I will let you guys know what happens :)
Sweet Ray Ban's $8
Sweet, Nica shirt, he sent Ash one also.
Fried Fish for lunch!  He likes it, he really likes it!

So this week we are on a bit of a baptism break for another two weeks. A lot of our investigators in the past didn't go to church so we had to move their baptismal date. But we are teaching these two awesome ladies, one is named Arelis.  Arelis is lady who is in her 30's and has two kids. She is really positive, and we practically dragged her to church this week. We showed up and she was like, "I don't feel good, I cant go to church." So I was like," Listen sister, If you don't go to church you will never receive more blessings from God, and God wants to bless you and you need these blessings in your life!" So she got ready and after that she was all happy and ready to go to church....haha. The other lady, Andrea, hasn't gone to church  for two weeks now so we showed up at her house Sunday in the afternoon, and she was telling us that she slept in again for church. but then she told us that she was reading the Book of Mormon and told us that she wants and needs to be more Like Nephi!! We were happy that she said that because then after that we didn't have to machete her that hard. We just told her

"imagine if you slaved all day on a backing a cake for your sister or Child, and you put all you had into this cake, and when finally your sister came to eat it she never said thank you just got up and left. How would you feel? Well that's how God feels when he blesses us with everything we have and we don't thank him. One of the greatest ways of saying thank you is keeping the  Commandment of Sabbath Day."
It was really great. She felt really bad and committed with God in her prayers that she would go no matter what happened this Sunday to church!! Super awesome!
Yesterday, we found this really awesome family who are Catholic but don't practice it. They are just Catholic because it is a tradition, but are looking for something more centered in the family and that will help the family be more unified! We put a baptismal date for the 23 of August! I just hope I don't have Changes because I want to baptize them and keep helping them!!!! :)
Anyway that is basically my week! hahaha I wish there was something more, but not much happens Tuesday to Sunday hahaha :)
I love you guys so much! You're so awesome! I don't want to say that I don't miss you, but I'm  so into the mission, that I really don't think to much about other things hahaha. Sorry that sounds bad, but I really love you and I really can't wait to be home in 17 months, but I love the mission!
Have an awesome week! Ill talk to you next week about changes! I hope I don't leave! :)
I'm sure you loved Wicked! We eat lunch everyday with the family of the Bishop, and we have dinner with his family 2-3 times during the week! :) Yeah dad told me about the Outback! I'm sure Lauren was traumatized!
Cool Baptist Church close to E. Naisbitt's house.
This is to show you that EVERYTHING in Nica is short.  Even the stop sign!

Week 29 - July 14, 2014

Week 29 - July 14, 2014

Mom and Dad! :)

Glad you guys liked the Package! :) Hope everything fits and everything is great! :) I love you guys so much, and if every you want anything,  just let me know and I will search for something haha :)

Okay, so I guess I didn't explain very well that we had changes like 5 weeks in the past. I thought I mentioned it, but I guess not! Sorry! So Yeah Sanchez had changes. We had 6 weeks together. I received Elder Mazariegos 11 of June, and we will have changes again on the 23 of July, so I will keep you guys better updated this change! Anyway, Elder Mazariegos has 20 months in the mission, is from Guatemala, and is 21 years old! Haha he is really good to work with, just has little patience, so I have been really trying to work on that aspect of my life and trying to help him at the same time, but he is really great!
lizard I caught in our house :) It's pretty small, but the head is pretty cool :)
Sounds like you guys had a great week! Girls camp videos and pics were awesome! And Laubs washing windows! haha!
Zone Activity - BBQ Awesome!
Elder Hayes. it was his birthday today
Zone activity - BBQ
Just keep telling her that she can make DOUGH if she really wants too! I think that is one thing that I have learned from the mission. If a person wants to have success, they can do it, they just have to put in the effort. But that's awesome that she is doing it! :) hahaha I loved moms paragraph about Lagoon and doing stuff for free or nearly free!!! Hahahahaha I'm sitting here laughing my head off! I have the best mom ever! :) "Ill do anything less than dress up in a full cow suit" Priceless! hahaha I'm sure the boys had a great time at Lagoon!

I was thinking about what dad was saying a few weeks ago about a trip to Argentina when I get back, and I forgot to mention it when dad first wrote it, but I think that would be super cool, because you two wouldn't need to learn Spanish nor pay for an interpreter man hahaha ;)  j/k, but that would be really cool and go to the temple down there! :) But you don't need to mention this in the weekly letter if you don't want people seeing this hahaha :)

This week was good, No rain! Super weird, maybe some time this week! It has been really really hot here! Haha we are cooking like lobsters here with 85% humidity! haha :)

We have been searching a lot this week for some new people! I love the people here, everyone is positive, there are just some people that are a lot more receptive than others! We found these four women sitting outside their house last night and put a baptismal date for the end of August! Super cool, but we will see if they progress. If they don't go to church, than they wont progress. I don't know about other places, but here the rule is Three times in church before we can baptize them, but other places, like parts of Mexico, its 5 times before they are eligible for baptism. So that is how we tell if they are prepared from the Lord, if they will complete with their commitments.
Me, just messing around before baptism

We baptized Ima this week, and she was defiantly prepared by the Lord :) We found her a month ago, and it was really cool how we found her. She is pretty rich, and the rich houses here are really hard to enter in because they have like 4 doors we have to go through. Anyway we were walking along in the street, and I had a super strong feeling that we needed to contact this guy walking in the street, and as we were talking to him, The family of Ima was selling one of their cars, and so we were stopped in front of the car, talking to this guy, who wasn't positive at all haha, but the Mom of Ima came out of her house and asked us if we were looking at the car, and that was when I had a really really strong feeling to talk to the mom of Ima. So we said bye to this man, and walked up to this house, and began to talk to this lady, and she let us in her house and that is when we found Ima :) We put a baptism date with her, and a week later went to church, was reading the book of Mormon, and the pamphlets :) and hasn't missed church or a day of reading since! She commented one day that she knew the Book of Mormon was true and that she can't seem to stop reading it! Anyway that is the story of Ima :) Super awesome!
Ima's Baptism

We are working with this family right now named Vanessa and Wilber. They aren't really all that positive, and yesterday in the night Elder Mazariegos and I were talking about them, and we both were feeling like we need to baptize them. We don't know why, they aren't all that positive, but there is just a feeling that we both have. I don't know,  what the Lord has in store for them, but we will keep working with them :)

Anyway that is my week! :) huge letter! :)

I love you guys!

Week 28 - July 7, 2014 -

Week 28, July 7, 2014

Mom and Dad!
I was laughing so hard reading your letters! Seriously, I was cracking up reading about mike golfing, and about your new Edger, but its battery power... haha Why battery??? I guess you're not buying gas now, which I guess would be cheaper :) But Snowbird/Lagoon/Fourth of July, basically three of my most favorite things in Utah haha! The only bit of fourth of July.

I got, was that we are about 20 minutes from the United States Embassy, so we saw a little bit of fireworks haha :) But lagoon, dead! That is a miracle! :) Dad was saying the Korver and Raeanna were sitting at Grandpa's house holding hands watching the fireworks haha :) That is so funny :) Ugh i miss the family, but only 17 1/2 months more! :) I am glad you guys are doing great, and that everything is going well at home!

Our week was great! We baptized this guy named Donald, he is 33 and he is an Investigator from when Elder Sanchez and I were Companions haha :) He had some problems, so we had to wait to baptize him till now, but everything is great! :)  We are pretty stoked that e baptized him the first week of the month! We should baptize like 5 people this month, and maybe one more if everything goes as plan! :)  We will be baptizing this girl this Saturday named Ima! She is so cool, she is 18 and the most "Pilas" Investigator that I have ever had! We gave her the Book of Mormon like 2 weeks and a few days in the past, and she is in 2nd Nephi! Its pretty crazy! We have barely had to teach her, we just show up and answer questions, and teach a little bit! :) It has been so nice! We have been looking really hard for the Testaments movie, because that explains really well the story of the book of Mormon, and how it is in the other side of the world :) and it helps people better understand that Christ visited America :) But we have enjoyed teaching her! :) I bet she will be a missionary, if she decides not to go to school in Brasil! Her family is super rich haha :) But we will see! :)
Changes are coming up again in two weeks! Elder Mazariegos thinks that I will have changes, but I hope not! I want to have another change here! We still have so many house and people that I have not talked with :) But we will see! :)
I love you guys so much! :) I hope everything goes great this week! The package should be getting to you guys this week, or the following, I'm not sure, but i hope you like it! :)
Thank you so much for the package and the treats! I really really really appreciate it! I have the best family in the world! :)
Love you so much!
